Content Management Portlets
I've got Portal Server 7 installed on Solaris 10 - SPARC.
I couldn't find any portlets in regards to Content Management in /psconsole to add in.
Could anyone show me where are this portlets? I just want to check out PS7 Content Management functionalities.
Thanks in advance.

The Content Mgmt portlets are provided by Fatwire. You can download them here: http://www.fatwire.com/products/spark_download_intro.html.These Fatwire CMS is only available for Portal 6.x today. The portal 7 compatible download should be available soon.- Jim

But on http://www.sun.com/software/products/portal_srvr/index.xml
you can find this statement
"FatWire Spark Portal Content Management system fully supported without restrictions, included free"
so I thought it is bundled in together with the download package for PS7.
Anyway, I thought wrong.
Thanks for the enlightenment.

Where are you getting your information that it only supports v6.x? I just contacted their sales and tech. departments and they fully support v7 as of 12/25/2005?
I haven't installed it yet, but I wanted to confirm your statement before I tried and find out when they would support v7 and they said they already do?
# 4
My information is 1st hand from trying to install the existing download. Fatwire does not install in portal 7 because of the new organization structure that is created with the new sample portals.
# 5
Ok, I wanted to make sure. I'll call them back...
# 6
Any idea on when is the release date for Version 7 compatible Fatwire Spark?
# 7
Nope, haven't heard anything yet...
# 8
Check this out
http://e-docs.fatwire.com/spark/6.3/
They got these documentation
1. Installing Spark With Sun Portal Server 7 on
Sun JES Application Server
2. Installing Spark With Sun Portal Server 7 on
Sun JES Web Server
I have downloaded gnu_CSSpark6.3_sun.tar.gz from their site.
I'm waiting for the license file before I can start installing. Will post further updates.
# 9
Caution:
I just read this documentation and it looks identical to the instructions for Portal 6.x. The necessary steps are not list in the documentation. It will NOT work with the Fatwire 6.3 release that is still posted on the download site.
It looks like Fatwire just retitled the old document.

Spark installation was a success, however users : fwadmin, ContentServer and DefaultReader and the default groups was deployed to "dc=example,dc=com" instead of "o=DeveloperSample,dc=example,dc=com".
Any ideas on how to move the default users, groups and etc from "dc=example,dc=com" to "o=DeveloperSample,dc=example,dc=com"?
Unfortunately, Fatwire documentation does not include all these information.

I decided to reinstall Spark. This time around I specified Base DN as "o=DeveloperSample,dc=example,dc=com"
Installation was successful. I can login using fwadmin.
However, when I access cs.SiteInfo portlet which I added through /psconsole, it gives me

Any ideas, anyone?

Based on http://e-docs.fatwire.com/spark/6.3/Spark%20Release%20Notes.htmI should have this problem if I changed the context root.Unfortunately I did not. Hmm, so whats the cause exactly? Maybe I should just wait for the Fatwire Spark PS7 release.

In /var/opt/SUNWportal/portals/portal1/config/desktopconfig.propertiesset portletRenderModeParallel=falseRestart the container. See if this solves your problem.
# 14
Yup, its already set to false, based on the Fatwire documentation I mentioned above.Any more ideas?
# 15
Some questions :1. Are these latest bits from fatwire site ? If yes, it should not have any problem. We already have a successful install running from the latest bits . 2. Are you getting the same problem with all other fatwire portlets ?
# 16
Its the latest bit from Fatwire.I've tried SiteInfo and SparkNews. Its the same.-Jason
# 17
Long shot, but I'm redeploying cs.war from /psconsole now.
# 18
It works!!!
Steps taken
1. I removed the Container I created in /psconsole
2. I undeployed cs
3. I redeployed cs
4. I recreate the Container in /psconsole. Define cs channels into the Container.
Voila. I can now access all of the portlets in define in the Container.
Funny problem.

Has FatWire really fixed Spark pCM for PS 7 ?This link below seems to indicate such, but I was hoping someone could verify via their own experience. http://e-docs.fatwire.com/spark/6.3/index.htmlThanks,Phil

I am also having the same problem, where the fwadmin, ContentServer and DefaultReader users and the default groups were deployed to the top level, instead of under an Organization. I thought I had specified the proper Orgainization at install time, but who knows, the FW documentation is not the best (more like the worst). Is there any way to fix this without doing a reinstall of FatWire? If not, does anyone know where the uninstall is documented?
Thanks.

I managed to solve the ablve problem by re-deploying the cs.war file using ./psadmin deploy.... command.
But now when i am clicking on Fatwire_Content tab on top, it gives me an error stating:
=======================================
get
ERROR: Content is not available
==================================
I am unable to find anything in the logs regarding this.
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance

Thanks for your interest. I managed to solve to problem by reploying the cs.war file and clearing the compiled jsps stuff from portal.
