Removing Access Manager from the same as the portal server

Good day all,

we are in the process of splitting the Access Manager (Identity) from the portal. I want to know first if this is doable, then the majors steps, such as configure AM SDK, re-deploy portal?, re-configure portal?, create a new portal instances?.

Whatt would be the steps any ideas?

We are running JES2004Q2.

Thank you in advance.

This would be doable, but why do you want to do it?From a perfomance point of view its a bad idea.If you want to use AM for other things as portal you should deploy additional AMs.-Bernhard

yes u can do this...

but its a time consuming development..u need to use Sun identity server's API's to make ur own console and processes..like create users, roles etc...then allocation portlets ..creating DP file and placing it onto Directory Server..

Whar we are trying to do is to remove the Access Manager from the box where the portal reside to a brand new box, the Access Manager is use by others services and we want it out of the box to be able to do upgrade easier.
