Google is your friend.

I found about 20+ results when using keywords "buffer owned by LANCE"

For example

<a href="http://sunsite.bilkent.edu.tr/pub/sun-info/sunspots/v9n73" target="_blank">http://sunsite.bilkent.edu.tr/pub/sun-info/sunspots/v9n73< ;/a>

... from 1990.

I don't have enough insight to advise you on this but you may just consider NOT using OS 4.x.

Solaris 2.5, 2.5.1, and 2.6 run very well on SS5's, even with a 2GB drive.

Partition it so that root does not exceed 1GB in size, a hardware limit of the OBP.

By the way, I'll cross-link your <a href="http&#58;&#47;&#47;supportforum.sun.com/sunos/index.php?t=msg &amp;th=4079&amp;start=0&amp;rid=0" target="_blank"><u>posting in the SunOS forum</u></a>, since that is where you gave much more information about your issue.

Thanks, for the reply, I know its and old topic but as I mentioned in my other post I have to use 4.1.4 for the monent as it is hosting a bespoke program that was found to have 'difficulty' on a newer OS, not tested ot implemented by me, I'm just supporting it.

I intend to upgrade, but the system is showing signs of its age and I would rather have a mirrored system in the mean time whilst I work out the upgrade.

I did find replies from google previously but I found it difficult finding relevant information in the results, there are a few of the pages that have no useful information.

I shall persevere.
