snmpdx problem including pdu version difference

dear Sungurus,

I have recieved an error from my nis server. i dont have any idea about snmpdx . please anyone help me out that what is the importance of this message and what is the work around.

this is the message i got:

' Jan 23 05:33:36 cornice /usr/lib/snmp/snmpdx: [ID 268089 daemon.error] error while receiving a pdu from 10.112.41.200.1161: The message has a wrong version (3)'

any one please help me out.

Hi Navi

I don't know if this will be helpful or not but the message you are receiving often occurs when a network management tool like HP Openview queries your node. It may query using a different SNMP version (usually v1), and often "public" for the community, which will make your snmpdx log errors even though it's actually work fine.

Do you have anything like this on your network?
