Can't collect 6800 system controller info
I get the following message when I run explorer with the scextended module
scextended: ERROR unable to collect data for MYSC
The command I issue is:
/opt/SUNWexplo/bin/explorer -q -w default,scextended -e
I have the SC host name & password defined in /etc/opt/SUNWexplo/scinput.txt and the mode of the file is 400. I have ssh turned on on the SC, and I can ssh from the explorer host to the SC on the command line with no problem.
Can anyone tell me why this is failing, or how I can get more info on why it is failing? The verbose flag does not provide any more information

Sun wanted me to do the same on a smeone elses system, they only had ssh and no telnet access to the SC. the explorer version that was installed would only try to connect via telnet. i am going through now changing it to allow telnet access. if you look at the scipts that run for explorer you can see how it connects.

Some systems are configured for security reasons, such that
the SC's subnet is so isolated that it is unreachable
except from essentially a direct connection from the controlling SysAdmin system.
Thus the SCEXTENDED command switch fails as it tries to run.
Try a quick test.
Log onto the domain you are going to run Explorer.
Ping the IP address of the SC.
Can you "get there from here" ?
If "Yes", then the Explorer should have no problems.
If "No", then go back to Sun and get guidance on how to gather
he information they want from the platform shell.
You will probably receive a long list of SC commands that you will need
to run manually, capture their output, and save as separate text files.
