cannot mount disk after install

I am installing JDS2 onto my laptop (HP Pavilion ze4125). I downloaded the iso's from the Sun internal website and burned the CDs. The installation goes fine but when it reboots after the 3rd CD, it just hangs. When I boot in the mode that shows the console output, I can see that it is trying to find a reiser fs on /dev/hda and not being able to mount the disk.

The only problem I had when installing was the installer would hang while installing evolution and then power off the laptop. I found I could get past this by moving the mouse around and eventually it went on to complete the installation. I installed freshly using this trick in case I had corrupted something, but I still get the reiser-fs problem.

Any suggestions?

Don't have any great ideas, but you might try reinstalling again, but this time leave it alone when it appears to 'hang' at the evolution installation. The evolution install can take a very long time (half an hour or more on some machines), during which the progress bar unfortunately isn't updated (known bug). But if you leave it long enough, it *will* install.
