Nautilus JPEG associations

I'd like to use gthumb (usr/sfw/bin/gthumb) as a default action for (double-)clicking JPG files in nautilus, but somehow I can't set the association.

In nautilus, when I right-click a JPEG file, and select 'Open With', I see

Eye of Gnome

Other Application...

When I select 'Other Application', Gthumb is not in the Application Chooser, so I can't select it to be displayed in the 'Open With...' menu.

I've tried to add Gthumb via the Gnome Menu->Preferences->Desktop Preferences->File Associations->Images->JPEG image. There is an action called "View as GThumb Image", which has a Custom action (/usr/sfw/bin/gthumb), but still I can't select it in the Nautilus application chooser.

Any ideas anyone?

System: JDS rel 3 on Solaris 10 (sparc), Nautilus v 2.6.1, SUNWgnome version 2.6.0,REV=10.0.3.2004.12.15.15.24.

I use the linux version of JDS. The following works:

In nautilus: right-click a JPEG file, and select 'Open With' -> click 'Other Viewer' -> select 'Wiew with Gthump' and click 'Modify' to have the possibilty to set it as default.

Hope this helps also for the solaris version.
