StarOffice update crashes Nautilus

Hi Folks:

I need help!

I just installed "Product Update 5" for StarOffice 7 on JDS2.

I had some problems with the install - mainly because of incomplete instructions in the "Readme" file. However, the update installed and StarOffice now launches as Product Update 5.

Unfortunately, something happened in the process of upgrading and Nautilus is now crashing right and left. My desktop is unuseable - click on anything and Nautilus crashes immediately.

Backtrace generated from '/usr/bin/nautilus' is:

The problem seems to be "No symbol table available." Although I have no idea what that means or how to fix it - or how updating StarOffice7 could have caused it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Bump.

Anybody?

Nautilus does not crash if I'm logged in as root, & I just set up a new user account and if I log in as a new user Nautilus doesn't crash.

However, if I try to do anything in my normal user account - Nautilus crashes immediately.

It looks like my Nautilus profile is screwed up. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks.

Have you tried removing (or rename) the .nautilus directory in your user home directory ? -Adri-

Hi Adri:

Yes, I tried moving nautilus out of the way: mv -f /home/jrh/.nautilus /home/jrh/old-nautilus

I rebooted and the problem is still there. If I click on anything on the desktop, nautilus crashes immediately.

Thanks for your suggestion. Any other ideas?
