Installing Netconnect 3.2 and upgrading explorer

Hi,

I am currently in the process of installing netconnect 3.2 in our organization which has large sun servers presence all over the world. I have seen that we have SUNWexplo, SUNWexplu and SUNWexplt installed already. What is the use for SUNWexplu and SUNWexplt ?

Will explorer 5.0 work in Solaris 2.5.1, 2.6, 8 and 10 ?

How can I preserve explorer configuration/data file during upgrade ?

thanks

Not sure what SUNWexplt is, SUNWexplu is the config files.

The config file is in /etc/opt/SUNWexplo/default/explorer. I've had problems using this file from a old SUNWexplo pkg to a newer pkg, so I just save it off and then run /opt/SUNWexplo/bin/explorer -g to configure this again, bit of a pain, but at least SUNWexplo is finally seperate from Netconnect pkgs!!

This is what I am going upgrading our install

backup Explorer config file

cp /etc/opt/SUNWexplo/default/explorer /var/tmp/

uninstall Netconnect

/opt/SUNWsrspx/bin/UninstallNetConnect.X.X.X.sh

Install the latest

InstallNetConnect.003.002.002.sh

Get correct data into Explorer

/opt/SUNWexplo/bin/explorer -g
