IM not working when DNS alias has been added

Hi Friends

This is with reference to the post that I have put earlier regarding IM. Everything was working fine until an alias was added in the DNS server for the portal server.

I have added the alias name in the organization alias name of the sun amconsole and also in the /etc/opt/SUNWps/platform.conf.default/gateway.virtualhost.

But IM is not opening now even if I put <aliasname:443> in the "Bypass Option in the browser"

Its urgent and please help me in this issue

Hi,

I have found that j2re-1.4-4 was the source of the problem. Actually when I have disabled the "java VM" in the advanced option of the IE, the IM started working with DNS alias name also. Is there any bug associated with j2re since it is not able to "bypass" correctly.
