Application on Windows can't be started
Hi ot there,
I have problems on an Enterprise Server 3.42 while starting a published
application on Windows Server 2003 Hosts; starting a desktop on these
machines works ...
The error message is:
Starting the application...
Connecting to Protocol Engine...
Protocol engine 'ttaexecpe_pid:24222_13' has rejected the request,
error: ErrInvalid
Session failed: Displays in a single scalable independent window, not
resumable.
Any ideas/hints?
TIA,
Jens

Jens,
A few things to check:
1. Does the hosts tab in the application object contain the right Windows
Terminal Server host?
2. Did you create it as a Windows application?
3. Can you post the output of
<install_dir>/bin/tarantella object list_attributes --name <obj>
where <obj> is in the form of an ENS object name such as
".../_ens/o=organization/cn=my windows app"
Regards,
David

Jens,
There should be an "address" attribute in the host object. Please go to your
Object Manager and enter either the hostname (FQDN) or the TCP/IP address of
your Windows Terminal Server host. Make sure that you can ping the Windows
Terminal Server from Tarantella using either the hostname (FQDN) or the
TCP/IP address that you specified.
Let us know if this resolves your issue or not.

David

OK, even after allowing the server to ping the windows terminal server,
it doesn't work, address as FQDN is set.

Jens,
are Terminal Services installed and enabled on your Windows Server box ?
No sure if the "Host" edition actually supports them; please check with
your Microsoft vendor if the above stands true or not.
