Catastrophe error in web server error log

I am getting the following errors in my webserver error log file, any ideas what could be causing this? Everything seems to be running fine with the portal so I am at a loss.

Just trying to understand the context of your issue, what version of portal are you running? the timestamp there seems like it's happening early in the morning, (assuming this is low activity) do you have other events on the machine at that time? backups? etc..?

if it's crashing frequently, any correlation to times? Tuning may come into play depending on the hardware you are running on.

We are running:Sun Portal 6.3 2004 Q2No CORE file is created when this event happens. No other batch jobs appear to be running when the Core event happens. It has happened at different time of the day, early in the AM, in the morning, in the afternoon.
