Timezone problem please Help !

Hi,

I installed Calendar 6 + patch 116577-09

on Solaris 8 HW3 US (with French locales and keyboard)

I positionned the box on the CET time zone (Central Europe Time)

TZ=CET in /etc/TIMEZONE

The default timezone for Calendar users is Europe/Paris.

When I run Calendar 6, I can see in the http.log file lines like : Timezone CET not found in timezones.ics file

Although I modified the timezone.ics file to reflect the correct abbreviations :

The Central Europe Time Zone in Calendar in known as CEDT/CEST.

CEDT is for Daylight saving time

CEST is for Summer time.

I changed the TZNAME: CEDT parameter with :

TZNAME: CET in the Europe/Paris time zone definition.

And restarted the box.

But this still doesn't work.

I keep getting these annoying warnings in the log files.

I tried many combinations with other timezones and some of them don't seem to work properly either

WET/WEST for instance.

Even with no modification of the timezone.ics file !

I guess there is a difference between the naming conventions used in Solaris and those used in Calendar.

But after the right changes in the timezone.ics file, this should work properly.

Does anyone know where this comes from ?

Any workaround ?

As a remark : Calendar Server works fine.

It is correctly synchronized to the right timezone.

I checked this with the reminder notifications.

But these annoying lines make the log files grow at an abnormal rate.

Is there a cache to purge somewhere after modifications of the timezone.ics file ?

Thanks in advance,

Best regards,

Vincent MAZARD

Hi,I copied in the timezones.ics file the VTIMEZONE entry with TZID:Paris/Europe and changed in there the TZID to CET BEGIN:VTIMEZONETZID:CET...END VTIMEZONE- Klaus Bauer
