Editor - full screen mode
Hi,
I am working at 800x600 on my laptop in MDI, and there is not much space
left for the editor. Is there a shortcut to display the editor in full
screen? That is, I press a key combination and the editor takes the whole
screen. I press the same key combination, and the editor returns in it's
place.
I know I could detach the window maximize it, and then reattach it. But it's
not very practical.
Thanks,
Gabriele

If you switch to SDI mode, you can do it pretty easily - just maximize the
editor window, no need to detach/attach.

Martin,
Gabriele probably thought of something like Internet Explorer's
F11-key functionality.
I've filed it as RFE. See and comment it at
http://www.netbeans.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=26321.

Hi!
I've attached ide.cfg I use that gives me a lot more of code space that the
default install.
I hope you like it. :))
Best regards,
Kovi
P.S.: You should change the ide.cfg for -userdir and -jdkhome options to
point to the right directory.

Hi Peter,
Exactly what I thought. :-) 1 vote for the issue.
It makes sense to have it also for other editing windows (such as the GUI
editing, property editor...). Since I can do it by hand, I guess it should
be possible (and easy?) to create a command.
I think it should solve many complaints about lack of space (which I always
see in the newsgroups and among my collegues: everybody's fighting for a
pixel more! ;-) )
Thanks,
Gabriele

I think, one thing that would help a lot is to add the "one touch expandable" to the split bar between editor and explorer. So when I'm editing I can hide the explorer with one click, and have it quickly back, when I need it.
