RFE: Key binding editor

It would be really nice if the key binding editor ("Global Key Bindings" dialog) would let you reassign keys. Now it just tells you that the key you want to use is already assigned to some other action. You have to go hunt down the other action, remove the binding, find your action again, and install the binding.

Please file a new enhancement for the editor in Issuezilla.

Thanks.

I filed

http://www.netbeans.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=22473

on this some time ago. It is similar to

http://www.netbeans.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=22432

(you are trapped in dialog and need to change something that

requires you to close the dialog).

Please vote for them if these are issues bothering you.

Thanks, Tim, but these two issues don't really seem to address my problem. In case it's not clear, I'll go through an example.

I want Ctrl-A to do "move cursor to beginning of line". So I go Tools->Options and navigate to Editing->Editor Settings. I select "Global Key Bindings", and the dialog appears. I select "caret-begin-line", and click "Add...". I type Ctrl-A, and it says in red that Ctrl-A is assigned to "select-all". I would like to have a "Replace" button or something so I don't have to cancel out of this dialog, find "select-all", select "Ctrl-A", click "Remove", and try it again.

Thanks again,
