CVS issues ("pruned" directories, cache - again)

Hello,

yesterday I have tried out the "stabilization build" on my

other computer which was still running beta1.

I was hoping that the CVS issue with incorrect status display

would be fixed, but unfortunately I have seen the [Local, 1.2]

display again. Though not that often as with beta1!

A "refresh" fixed the problem always. I really hope you guys can

get a grip on that one...

Now yesterday I was refactoring some of my modules and "renamed"

some packages. In CVS this is always a delete and recreate (as

I'm not aware of a rename command in CVS - am I missing something?)

This has always worked fine. But yesterday one of the "deleted"

directories refused to disappear from the explorer. I did several

updates with "Prune empty directories" enabled. The directory

wasn't physically there any more (the prune worked) but the

IDE still showed the node in the explorer. I did the update

from WinCVS while NetBeans wasn't running but still NetBeans

would display the directory. It seems that the "refresh" commands

returns this directory name and NB doesn't remove it.

Strange enough two other directories which I have deleted two

weeks ago do not show up in the Explorer. I have no clue what

the difference between them is.

As I'm using a local CVS on that machine I just deleted the

directory manually from the CVS repository but that sure isn't

a viable solution in a real production environment....

Cheers

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

I wonder whether your problems can't be related to the following issue:

http://www.netbeans.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=25364

If so, feel free to add your investigations there ... Doesn't manual

"CVS | Refresh Recursively" above those virtual folders help ?

Probably Martin Entlicher can comment on this better.

Regards Jirka
