Strange window redrawing in Win2k

I am using f4j (build 501) with JDK1.3-RC2 on Windows 2000. Sometimes, when

one of the IDE's JFrames needs to be

redrawn (even partially ) the whole Windows desktop and even windows from

other applications get redrawn resulting in

annoying flickering. Has anyone experienced the same problem ?. Can it be

fixed.

Note that the same forte and JDK configuration on WinNT 4.0 (SP4) runs just

fine.
