consumers not receiving msg's in queue

I am puzzled...my consumer reads msg's from the queue fine for some period of time, then at some point, it will not any longer...i dont see any open transactions that might be holding it up.....if i stop and restart IMQ, it will then start processing again fine, but not until I do.

I see no errors in any logs either.

any clues where I can look?
