Does Sun ONE Instant Messaging Support virtual domains?

Sun ONE Instant Messaging is not domain aware and does not itself support virtual domains. If you want to support mutliple domains, you will need to deploy multiple IM servers, each of which has its own searchbase into the directory server. There will be a different IM server for each domain. You can still maintain a single directory server.

Yes a single instance of IM -server can support hosted as well as default domain. Hosted domain is well supported in IM 7.1 or later. IM 7.2 is going to be released soon in Jan 2007, you may want to try out the latest IM.
