Mac Synchronization

Does anyone read this forum? There are so few posts, and even fewer replies that one wonders. Sun is a major player in this business, but you wouldn't know it based on this forum.

Does anyone know if Sun will develop a Macintosh synchronization tool for Calendar Express similar to their Windows synchronization tool? We are a school system with thousands of Macintosh users and a large number of Windows users. The latter are very pleased with their synch tool; the Mac users demand parity!

Is there a new version of Calendar Server on the horizon? In addition to a Mac synch tool, what other end-user features are planned, e.g., will we be able to send attachments when we post a group event? Can we color code events to gain the attention of the invitee? etc, etc

Does Sun care about this product, or is it an orphan already!

Comments and definitive answers are appreciated!

The jintek site is gone.... unable to get there all week.We are using the jintek synch tool, but it is basically a 1.0 beta and not as robust as the Sun One synch tool for Windows. Will Sun dev elop a similar synch tool for Mac? jintek is not the final answer.

jintek site is stil there (http://sync.jintek.com). Looks like Sun has hired this company to devlop the sync tool for sun one calendar for MACs. I had to first register with the site manager and then they had to verify URL of calendar server and I was provided the sync software via download and email. Just one thing, you will need to place the iplanet conduit into the Palm conduit folder after you install Palm software (not documented).

Maybe you can get to the site, but we cannot.

When is the last time you visited jintek.com?

We have the conduit and are using it. It's a good start, but far short of the Windows synch tool Sun developed. Seems to me that if Sun is truly supporting Calendar they would put their own people on this task (synch tool for Mac) and not farm it out.

Do you know of any other improvements scheduled in future releases? Will there be additional releases?

I just went to website and it worked for me. Try emailing Paul Srimuang <paul@jintek.com> and ask him for the new version. I'm sorry but I have no insight on their development process and can't add any other than to contact Paul directly.
