First, here is the Netbeans* Module Catalog:
http://www.netbeans.org/catalogue/
Note there is a "stable" and "all" list.
The instructions for installing modules are at:
http://www.netbeans.org/catalogue/install.html
As can be seen, it helps if the plugin module is packaged as an .nbm file. If it isn't, here is what
http://www.netbeans.org/kb/faqs/modules.html#FAQ_1
says about it:
Installing a module externally to the IDE not possible
Is it possible to install a module from a process external to the IDE?
It is not possible. But if you place a new module JAR in the modules/ directory in an IDE installation, the IDE will automatically install it the next time it is started, which may be good enough.
(In multi-user mode, which is the default starting with NetBeans 3.2, you must place the new JAR in the modules/ directory in the user directory, not the IDE installation, in order for it to be installed correctly.)
But this might not work for a _plugin_. BTW, I would need a URL to the product you refer to, since I find a lot of stuff that refers to "portal building" out on the Internet.
Hi Bradley,
The URL you asked for:-

I am talking about Sun ONE Portlet Builder Plugin 1.0. I am working in Windows 2000 environment with Sun ONE Studio 5.0. I have downloaded Sun ONE Portlet Builder Plugin 1.0. I need to develop portlets using the above two. Can I do this?
I need Sun ONE Portal Server 6.0. But it is not for windows till date.
The Release Notes of the plugin at:-
http://docs.sun.com/source/816-6423-10/index.html#19718
discuss about a simulator for testing of portlets developed on Sun ONE Studio. How can I use that simulator?
I have already put ps.jar & psrun.jar files in module/ directory of studio 5.0. I have also add ps.nbm file following the way you described. What is next to do?
waiting for your guidance for all of my concerns.
Regards,
Asif Belal.
