can i hav two different JVM running ?

Hi there.

I am a novice in JAVA.

Actually in one of my project i hav a requirement that the user uses JVM 1.4.

Now i want to know if a JVM 1.3.* is running as a result of user accessing an instance of MS-IE that has an applet running and now if the user opens IE containing my applet in whcih i hav specified OBJECT tag and given clsid of JVM 1.4....

IE crashes.... can anybody help me understand... m confused
