Yet another Linux distributive?...

I'm very found of Java Desktop System. It is user-friendly, it has StartOffice suite, Evolution mail client, Mozilla web browser and JRE. It must be easy to switch to this platform for users who used to work on Windows. But what makes it different from other Linux distributives? I could have all these goods on any other Linux. Why is it calledJava Desktop System? Is it somehow optimized for Java in comparison to other Linux dists.? Isn't it yet another Linux distributive with JRE preinstalled?

Our team thanks you for your kind words regarding the usabilty of the Java Desktop System. The Java Desktop System is the desktop component of Sun's Java Enterprise System stack. The JRE has been preinstalled, integrated and tested on the Java Desktop. But more importantly, Java is used throughout the Java Enterprise System. You will find existing software written in many programming and scripting languages where appropriate, but you should expect to see Java more completely integrated into the desktop in future releases of the Java Desktop System.
