Prevent address rewrite in iMS 5.1
I have 2 domains, @main.com and @alias.com. I want to be able to send email
from the alias.com domain without the from address being rewritten as
@main.com. I found an article
http://knowledgebase.iplanet.com/ikb/kb/articles/1958.html which talks about
this, but not sure where to set this up. Any help to do this would be
appreciated. Not sure where to set the SMTP rewrite style using the
console.
Thanks in advance, Chris

Hi Chris,
We have had this situation with one of our customers (HP-UX, iMS 4.15)
We were unable to prevent the address rewrite and ended up having to write a
plugin to do this on an intermediate MTA (iMS 4.15). A very ugly and
expensive solution.
iPlanet have told me this is *fixed* in iMS 5. (The NO REWRITE parameter
works). I haven't tested this yet and am hoping I can remove my "ugly and
expensive" solution and recover four expensive HP-UX boxes when I move the
customer to iMS 5.1.
Please let me know how you go with this.
Cheers,
