Setting Events for Others.

I would like the facility to create an event in a number of people's calendars but I do not wish to include myself in this event, e.g. I am a manager and I wish to set meetings for my sales staff to attend, and I want to put them in their calendars, but I do not wish to attend these meetings. Is there anyway to do this. I am using SunONE Calendar 5.1.1p1 on Solaris 8.

Thanks

Ali

You can do this by selecting one of the calendars in the group to be the organizer instead of you.

To do this, you must have modify permission for at least one of the calendars in the group you are scheduling the event for.

Then when you are in the new event dialog, click the drop down list labeled "Calendars" at the top right.

Choose one of the calendars in the group you are scheduling by clicking the name. (The only names that appear in this list are the ones you have modify permission for, or for which you are an owner.)

Now in the attendees list at the bottom of the dialog, that calendar name should appear instead of your own.

This makes that person the organizer of the event. If you want to make changes to the event at a later time, you must do it from that calendar (display the calendar and click on the event).
