Sun ONE Studio 5: no longer supports J2EE RI?

Hi,

I am evaluating Sun ONE Studio 5 right now and it seems that the J2EE Reference Implementation ("RI") is no longer available as deployment target for J2EE applications. In Runtime -> Server Registry -> Installed Servers, there is now only the AS7 and Tomcat. How can I install support for the good old RI as deployment target? Or is that not possible anymore? I had problems installing AS7 on RedHat 9, so AS7 won't work for me. :-(

Thanks,

Bernd.

Interesting addition to my previous posting: I still had the old directory from a previous Sun ONE Studio 4 installation at work; when I copied the <studio-home>/modules/appsrvRI.jar

over into the modules

directory of the new Studio 5 installation, it works perfectly. Was this file appsrvRI.jar

file forgotten in the new Studio or left out for a reason?

Bernd.

S1S5 does not support J2EE RI, therefore there is no plug-in bundled with the product. Users are at their own risk if you wish to use the RI plug-in from the previous version.Vidya Chakaravarthi
