SMTP not responding properly

Hello,

I am running iMS 5.1 with bundled directory services 4.1 on a win2k.

yesterday there was a power failure and the server went for an abnormal reboot. Since then my iMS is not responding properly.

I am able to connect to port 25 but then after that theer is no respose from the server, it just hangs at that.

Even when I try to dirsync -F it will just not complete and will stay there.

What do I do now?

Pls help I am in a dire situation.

Regards,

Sanvir Jham

Some information to add.

when I do imsimta recover-crash, it responds with database Ok, then I try to do imsimta dirsync -F -v it just keeps hanging there. I have stopped all my services.

Do I need to do imsimta cnbuild and imsimta cleandb too?

Pls help

Regards,

Sanvir

Don't know for windows.. but

You may want to check your <server-root>/log/imta/dirsync* log files for something like "can't get the lock"

If you find this, there is some dirsync.lock and dirsync.lck files in <server-root>/imta/config/ and <server-root>/imta/tmp/

It works when I delete those files.

Thanks for the hint.

I finally managed to remove the dirsync.lock. __db_lock.share and __db_mpool.share from <server-root>/imta/tmp/ after making the iplanet services manual and then restarting the win2k server.

After removing these lock files, I again switched my iplanet services to automatic and restarted the machine.

Now the server sings :)

Thanks for replying,
