Install Process

I am trying to install Messaging Server 5.1 for the first time on a Solaris 8 box. The install wants me to select ports for POP3, IMAP, and SMTP.I selected the default ports.

POP3 110

IMAP 143

SMTP 25

The install complains that the SMTP port is already in use on this system. I checked the services and port 25 is set for SMTP. So why would it complain? How do I get around this? Any hints, tips or suggestions appreciated.
