Deactivate a user's mailbox

How do I de-activate a user's mailbox? <P>Removing the user's mailHost attribute will de-activate mail service for the user, but will not delete the user'smailbox.

You can't really do that using iDA or Netscape Console, that is a rquired field if a user has mail enabled... So exactly how are we suppose to clear the mailHost attribute? Thanks.Peter

Just change inetUserStatus or inetMailStatus from active to inactive. Messaging server will understand this as a way to disable the account. This will not have an effect on the mailbox etc.. Then to re-enable it just set one of these to active.
