How do i enter data into the directory sever

I would like to know the ways of inserting data (the attributes and itz values) into the directory server. Is there any tool available for it? Or we should use ldif files and just import it using ldap browser? Any help is appreciated.Thanks in advance.KUmar

ldapmodify and ldif is one way. Manual entry can be done using console or other freely available tools.
