New Domain Level Attributes

Is it possible, acceptable, and/or safe to create Domain level attributes? I want to have an sttribute that only applies to user of a particular domain. The attribute applies to all users of the domain. I may hace another domain that has the same attribute, but with a different value. And, I may have other domains that don't have this attribute at all. What would be the best way to accomplish this?

Can I safely add an attribute to one of the xml files from /etc/opt/SUNWips/xml (i.e. iwtDesktop.xml)? And if I do which one of these xml files is domain specific if any?

if you just want to add attributes for a particular domain then the easiest way to do it would be to do something like this ..

ipsadmin change domain name xml

you can just put your new attribute in the xml and it should get added to the domain ..

do an ipsadmin get domain domain_name to verify if the attribute was added to the domain ..

HTH ..
