Need help installing iPS to run SSL in Open Portal Mode

I'm preparing to install iPlanet Portal Server (SP3a) in Open Portal mode with SSL. I have a few questions:

1) I understand in a "Open Portal" installation I don't

install the the gateway component, but when

installing the server component the installation

script asks for gateway information:

What is the hostname of the machine?

What is the sub-domain name?

What is the domain name?

What should I enter?

2) How do I configure SSL in an Open Portal?

Should I perform a customized installations and

enter "443" for the profile server port. Then after

the installation generate a CSR on the web server

and send it to Verisign.

What are the recommend steps?

3) Are there any draw backs in setting the Porta Server

Super Admin other than root?
