Any word when iPS will be updated so that the included Web/App server are up to speed with iAS 6

We're _really_ behind the curve on the app server functionality with 3.0sp3a (e.g. J2EE compliance)
Integration with App Server would require making major changes to the product in its current form, this is beyond the scope of service packs. Havind said that, the next release of portal which will be out in June and will be integrated with the app server.
