LDAP Authentication Module
Maybe I am barking up the wrong tree but I assume it is possible to use
an external LDAP server to authenticate users to the portal. The
external LDAP server just authenticates the user while the profile is
stored in the internal iPlanet directory.
I have configured the LDAP authentication module with suitable settings
but when I try to authenticate using this method the authentication
fails everytime.
I have Unix auth also configured which works and I have a profile in the
portal.
I get an error message in the portal authentication logs about checking
my dn filter etc. but in actual fact no authentication request is being
made of the external directory. There is no traffic at all between the
portal and the external directory.
I am trying to get this working for an evaluation. Using service pack 3a.
