Anyone try to install iPS on a standalone machine? Do you need to have DNSsetup?
Yes, you can install IPS on a stand alone machine.
I have an old sparcstation on my desc, running IPS SP3, withouth even beeing
networked. You must just add a full qulified hostname in the /etc/hosts
file.
