Propagating Channel Properties to all Roles and SubRoles

Hi,I was told never to 'apply changes to sub-roles' when i make changes tochannel properties. Is there a known problem with doing this.ThanksHari

Not sure who told u that and why but you would use that option if you would

want the changes you make at a domain level to be trickle down to all roles

and sub roles ..

There isn't a problem with editing channel properties (after you have clicked the

"Edit Channel" button), but here is a possible other reason why someone might

have said this.

If you are editing the selected channels list on the desktop profile page, you

probably do not want to apply the changes to all sub-roles. This is because each

person most likely has their own selected channels list, and if you do apply the

changes to all sub-roles, each user's custom channel list will be reset back to

the value for the domain or role where you do this.

Currently, there is no easy way to add a channel to the system and cause that

channel to immediately show up in the user's selected channel list.
