Portal Breaks

I have iPs 3.0 sp2 on a Solaris 8 box. Sometime after installation, the time

varies, the portal stops responding. The "no such domain" error comes up and

this error appears in the web server log:

failure (16802) : Internal error: exception thrown from servlet

service function (uri=/login) : java.lang.NullPointerException, Stack:

java.lang.NullPointerException

iPs has been re-installed a few times, and so has the OS, but with the same

thing happening in a few hours or days. There has been no consistent change

that coincides with it's demise. The OS has been installed with and without

the recommended patches. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Thanks

The primary reason for seeing the "No Such Domain" issues tend to be related to the Domain URL Mapping list which is present under Manage Domains > Domain > Authentication. Check if the Defaultdomain name is same as the one in /etc/opt/SUNWips/platform.conf. If this is okay then try restarting the server and gateway since they may not be in sync with eachother.
