Admin console breaks

I have a customer who has installed iPS several times, and suddenly the

admin console stops responding. Also take note that the installation, for

the past 4 times, came through OK

but at no particular time or event, the Portal Administration console breaks

and the login page shows 'No such Domain".

Has anyone seen this? it is running Solaris 8 with recommended_8 patches

installed and iPS sp2.

iPlanet had advised them to re-install the OS but this time not to put the

recommended_8 patches.

Does this make sense to anyone?

Thanks,

Ryan

Usually, the "No Such Domain" error, is refering to the portal "domain" that you are trying to hit. I assume they're typing "http://contentserver:8080/console" to get the admin console? By default, that URL tries to hit your default domain in portal but there might be a problem recognizing the URL you are entering. If they are accessing it by IP address or a DNS CNAME they have created and it's different from the actually machine name you have to go and add either the IP address or CNAME in the admin console under "Domain URLs". In the mean time make sure they are accessing the admin console via the machninename.companyxvy.com instead of a DNS CNAME or IP addressWesRyan Toornburg wrote:I have a customer who has installed iPS several times, and suddenly theadmin console stops responding.
