Message sent in web Interface by Macintosh using IE5 appears in single narrow column

When a user sends a mesage using the web interface on a MAC OS9.2 IE 5.x, the recipient gets the text in a single long narrow column.Any Ideas?

Yes, I've seen this problem. I believe there is already a bug filed with Sun for it. I never remember being told of a workaround for it.

The issue with the web interface and Internet Explorer on the Macintosh platform that causes such behavior (Limits text to about 15 characters per line) can be resolved by having the clients perform the following:
The fix is to select Preferences from the Edit Menu and then select Langauge/Fonts under the Web Browser section. (You may need to expand the Web Browser section to access the Langauge /Fonts settings). In the Fonts and Size section find the Default Character Set and change it from Western Latin1 or current character set to Western Mac. This will resolve the 15 character per line issue. :o)
