Has anyone done a NSMS 4.15 to iPlanet MS 5.1 migration on NT?
I have NSMS 4.15 running on NT and, for several reasons, want to move to iPlanet v5.1 on the same system. Using my test server I've been following the instructions that start on p12 of the v5.1 release notes and everything seems to go ok until I actually install iMS. Just after the shortcuts are created for the server console I get a error on the screen.
A serious problem occured while installing the iPlanet Messaging Server Domain Component Tree. It reported the following problem:
The server configuration for the Domain Component Tree cannot be created.
Looking in the installation log I see the following;
(Several of these)
ERROR:
TYPE: Install Config
LOCATION: LInstallConfig::FindExpression
DETAILS: No value exists for the name "local.deforg.dn".
then the Notice: creating ...
and then
NOTICE: Creating Domain Component Tree.
ERROR:
TYPE: LDAP
LOCATION: LLdapEntry::WriteToLdap
DETAILS: Unable to create entry 'o=internet' in LDAP server.
and then
ERROR:
TYPE: Installable
LOCATION: LMetaDataInstallable::Create
DETAILS: The server configuration for the Domain Component Tree cannot be created.
so it appears to me that the install fails as it can' create ldap entries. The slapd logs confirm that.
Any idea why? I'm stumped on this one.
