Forte Style Guide...

Hello World

We are a small company starting soon to develop Forte applications, and

would like to know if anyone has developed a "Style Guide for Proper Forte

Application Development".

Topics covered could be things like Name Conventions, Screen design guide,

Segmentation, etc.

Any input will be appreciated: mail, references to WWW etc.

Best Wishes

The original posting did seem to be seeking a guide for writing and organizing the implementation deliverables...classes, methods, etc. Although I don't have anything to offer that covers those concerns, I can't pass up this chance...

A colleague and I are in the process of writing a book that will cover the analysis and design process for OO application development, with a strong slant to Forte as the implementation environment. We're not planning to discuss method naming and coding conventions particularly, but we hope to provide a guide that will take a Forte development team from building the problem statement all the way through low-level, detailed design.

As we get closer to publishing, we'll be sure to mention it here again and offer a few more details about it.

At a Forte training class last week it was mentioned that a

style guide was "in the works"... Exactly when it will come

out, though, I don't know.

Yes, I have for a couple of companies developed Forte Standards and Guidelines

which cover such topics. These are based on industry standard other style guides

but with a Forte slant.
