Your web server (the plugin to be more specific) will not immediately

know if an appserver has failed or is unavailable. That's what udp is

used for. In this case the detection of this done by your network stack

instead of iAS and will depend on your tcp/ip timeout. Some systems have

a very long tcp/ip timeout in which case the web server will not know

about the failure for that amount of time and keep sending request to

the failed appserver and obviously won't get any replies which means

your client will not get any service if they happen to be on the

receiving end of that request.
