iPlanet appserver installed on windows 2000 machine.. I am getting kas.exe error . Failure initi

Error log has following msg in it -

[30/Nov/2001:20:10:46] failure: Failure initializing Listen Sockets

[30/Nov/2001:23:24:27] info: successful server startup

[30/Nov/2001:23:24:27] info: Netscape-Administrator/4.2 B2000.180.0600

[30/Nov/2001:23:24:27] failure: startup failure: could not bind to port 6696, IP address 169.254.108.118 (Invalid Argument)

I have installed iPlanet appserver on my windows 2000 machine and everytime I switch my computer on, I get kas.exe error. i have to manually start netscape admin server and iplanet app server. Mine is a home PC and I am not on network.

I am newbie, this is the first time I am using webservers and appservers PLS HELP!!!!.

Hi,

Please review my posting under general section titled "iPlanet

Application Server SP3 Installation" screens 1 to 4. The same holds good

for SP1/SP2 also, the error what I anticipate from the error message is

that, iAS is not able to communicate with the Directory Server, this could

be because, 1.You don't have a static ip address, 2. The service is not

started, 3. Port numbers are wrong. Please post the subsequent errors that

are shown on the screen to help you further.
