Solaris deployment problems
Hi!
We have successfully installed and deployed our application on iPlanet
running on NT. Now we are trying to migrate to SunOS 5.8, but have
encountered some problems.
We are unable to verify the installation by running the Fortune application.
The application is installed into the APPS-directory but does not seem to be
registered into the server. Trying to access fortune in the browser only
results in a "This page cannot be displayed" and produces no logs in the
logs-directory.
When using iasdeploy-command to remove the app and redeploy it, the
following message is written into the ias.log:
..
kas> deployment action ''J2EEInstallEar''
(/u01/app/iplanet/ias6/ias/JAR/fortune.ear) complete.
[25/Oct/2001 10:51:03:8] info: GDS-007: finished a registry load
kas> deployment get log ''J2EEInstallEar''
(/u01/app/iplanet/ias6/ias/JAR/fortune.ear)
..
[25/Oct/2001 10:51:04:3] error: CONN-003: socket receive error (RecvBuffer
1) (conn 0xe9810, sock 15, host 0x8b600c16, port 0)
Running iascontrol to stop and start the server seems to work. Kas is up and
running.
Can ns-admin be the problem? When trying to start it with admin-start we get
the following ouput:
error opening access log: can't open
/u01/app/iplanet/ias6/admin-serv/logs/access
Access Log disabled!
Info: Cache expiration set to 600 seconds
error opening error log: can't open error log
/u01/app/iplanet/ias6/admin-serv/logs/error (unknown early startup error)
Error Log disabled!
warning: statistics disabled (unknown early startup error)
Netscape-Administrator/4.2 B2000.176.0558
startup failure: could not bind to port 11025, IP address 139.96.12.22 (Bad
address)
We are using iPlanet 6.0 SP2 and iPlanet web server 4.1

Jonas

Hi,
Okay, do you see the fortune application via iASAT ? Are you having a webful
or a webless installation ? Have you registered the server via iASAT ? Are you
having a DHCP client enabled, if so disable it and have a static ip address.
Regards
Raj
