iAS SP2 installation failure on Win2K & NT 4.0

Hi,

I was trying to install the iPlanet Application Server 6.0 (SP2)

test drive - but nothing is installed on to the hard disk. The

installation progress bar completes, but nothing is copied

to the hard disk.

I installed the iPlanet Web Server 4.1 first ... which iAS detected

during install, but then installation *seems* to proceed, but

as I mentioned earlier, nothing is copied on to the hard disk at all.

(just an empty directory C:\iPlanet\iAS6)

I tried this on two Win2K machines with SP2 installed and on

one NT 4.0 Workstation with SP6a installed, and I got the

same failure.

Going through the website, I saw the cleaning the registry of

stray ldap entries might help - and I did so, but I still got the

same failure.

Hope someone can help ... soon.

I believe that someone figured out that this was generally a problem with

network settings. Look for Sri Thuraisamy's post from July 20th and see

if that helps.

Why don't select some other locations and to clear the registry for iAS entry then reboot your system and try to install once again. Now choose D:/iAS folder.Definitely it will work.

I had the same problem, same result - NOTHING. Its suspect cause no errors during installation are shown.-Tom-
