Install Problems with IAS6.0 SP3 on Win2K

Please can someone help me I am having big problems trying to get IPAS 6.0

with SP3 working on Windows 2000.

My install consists of :-

* WebServer -- iWS6.0 Enterprise Edition

* iPlanet Application Server SP3 (Developer Edition)

With SP3 these should be compatible !

I am trying to install on a laptop and not participate on a network (yet).

Basically everything installs fine, but the fortune test fails with the

message

" The iPlanet Application Server at (255.255.255.255, 10818) is not

available. Check if iAS has been started"

Please review the logs below to understand what going wrong.

I've defined a Static ip address and a primary DNS suffix. I have also

noticed if I change the IP using kregedit and restart the IAS6.0 NT service

it usually crashes with kas.exe.

I haven't installed Windows 2000 SP2. Is this neccessry ?

Any help appreciated.

Hi,

Although you are not connecting to a network for now, you do need a fixed IP

address to install iAS against.

Get the microsoft loopback connector (a virtual network card) installed and

assign it a fixed address like 192.168.1.1 or so.

Then install iAS, and enter that address when asked.

Cheers
