Problems installing iPAS on Windows 2000

Hi, like several other people in this group, I'm having difficuties

installing iPAS 6.0 on Windows 2000, and would really like to get this

resolved quickly...

1. I have installed iPWS 4.1 (installed into C:\Netscape\Server4) and that

seems fine.

2. I downloaded ias60SP2Eval-2-nt.zip and unzipped it. I ran setup.exe from

the NT sub-directory, and it seems to run fine (completing all the steps in

about two minutes).

I have a FAT file system as opposed to NTFS, but otherwise nothing seemed to

bother the install and it said that the install directory would be

C:\iplanet\ias.

When I look in the file system, there is no directory C:\iplanet and nothing

shows up in the Start menu either.

Reading other posts in the newsgroup, I looked for slapd in my registry and

there is no sign of it (where would it be?). The only other issue seems to

be that of the domain name for the host: I'm not sure how to tackle this

because we run DHCP, and I don't want to ask for a static IP address unless

I really have to.

Has anyone else successfully installed using this setup?

Thanks for any help. Martin

Running iAS without a static IP is a bad thing. You really need to get one.

I suspect that the domain/host name information is causing your problem. See if

any of the prior posts can help. Someone seems to have figured out the trick to

straighten out the Win2K networking settings.
