iAS6/Solaris: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError

I've seen this posted a few times before, but I can't find any answers.

When I try to register a server using iASAT on Solaris (running the

display on my Linux box), I get a java.lang.OutOfMemoryError. I've got a

gig of memory on the box, with well over 500MB free. Any ideas on why

this happens, and what to do to work around it? Thanks in advance.

I just had this problem on a Solaris 8 box. The problem for me was that I was using the wrong port number. Once I used the right port number for the Admin server, I was able to register my server with iASAT. Why a wrong port number should cause an OutOfMemoryError is beyond me, but you might want to verify that you are contacting the Admin server at the right port.

Hi Ramesh

For me its working fine.My server( iAS 6.0 sp2) is running on solaris 6

and i am working on Linux(mandrake 7.1). I telnet to solaris box and

started iASAT, I register the server and its working fine.

Could you please send me exect configuration of your linux m/c and where

exectlly

you are getting this error message, it will be helpful if you provide

the complete

error stack trace.

Thanks,

Deepak.

Hi Ramesh:

I am getting the same thing on Solaris 6 with 640MB of RAM, running

NAS40SP2.

I wonder if the hardware can cause this, as I work on Sun Ultra 1 SBus

(UltraSPARC 167MHz) and System clock frequency: 84 MHz.

We have working NAS on (2 X UltraSPARC-II 296MHz) and System clock

frequency: 99 MHz

Please help if you have any clue.

Thanks,

Peter
