A work-around could be to use the tar.gz version, not the .rpm one.

i downloaded te j2sdk-1_4_2_04-linux-i586-rpm.bin

so i did chmod 777 j2sdk-1_4_2_04-linux-i586-rpm.bin

than, ./j2sdk-1_4_2_04-linux-i586-rpm.bin

i get tis

To do this you must to make right click and select save source as....And then you will get it from the download site, otherwise if you made click on the link you will receive only a lot of garbage.
