Java vs C in games

Uh... I'm sure I posted a topic similar to this before but I can't find it and if it's been deleted or moved I have no idea casue nothing's been said.

So anyway again, anyone know of any journals or reports which might help ne in my own appraisal of java and whether it can match C/C++ in games development and general compiler performance or anything similar which might be of use.

Thanks.

In recent issues of Java Developer's Journal, they discussed this.

Traditionally, people choose C/C++ to squeeze more performance out of the machine.

But IMHO this is going to decline, and the advantages of Java (cleaner, less accident-prone) will become more dominant, since properly used it will mean faster and more flexible development (so studios can get their games to market faster, etc.).

that is totally correct but i guess in the future C# will be a java opponent not to under estimate although i dont like C# -> because mircosoft -> microsoft -> no good -> keep java going :-)
